The question is difficult. On the one hand, the endless addition of unwanted "features" may drive people away, and I think it's good to encourage people to leave. On the other hand, if they refuse to, it's good to at least lessen the burden and show Facebook they're unhappy. The bright side is that if this feature auto-reactivates, that may drive users away anyway.

@highlight β I can't believe it! As if Facebook wasn't invasive enough, they invent the feature @highlight and reactivate it annually for you! I just saw family and friends complaining about receiving notifications for the use of that tag π I searched a way to avoid this feature (also invited them to leave Facebook): 1.
