A new identity!

A “new” name online?

I recently decided to get rid of the online pseudonym I’ve been using for several years now. Here’s why, and how to call me now.

But why?

If you know me a bit, you probably know that until now, my name in online spaces has been Twann. When choosing this pseudonym for the first time, I didn’t really think about it. When I created my first account on a Git hosting platform, I had to choose a username, so I choose Twann as a temporary one. As things went on, I forgot to change it and became stuck with it.

Unfortunately (for me), I’ve never really liked it. First of all, because it isn’t a real name, and also because people usually have a hard time understanding how to pronounce it (even I don’t really know, by the way). Because of this, I’ve been thinking about changing it for the past months.

So, how to call me now?

I am thrilled to announce that I’m officially known as Camelia on the internet from now on. I even registered a new domain name for the occasion (which you probably know, considering you are reading this article). I am also slowly changing my usernames everywhere. However, I will keep some old accounts with the username twann for backwards compatibility (for instance, for archived git repositories, or for archived package repositories for Fedora and Ubuntu).
