Is this going to be a good year? 🏎🏁

F1 in 2024 started off looking like a walkover for Verstappen, then got more interesting, then he won any way. In 2025 things should start off more even, so we might get an entertaining season. Teams probably won't have put a huge effort into this year's cars because they're concentrating on regulation changes for 2026, so the close racing from the second half of laat year should continue.

I wrote previously about the dilemma of being team mate to one of the best drivers.

Perez finally got the push for not getting anywhere near Verstappen, and the next candidate for being made to look foolish is Liam Lawson. Good luck to him. He'll need it.

Hamilton has gone to Ferrari because he wants to win again, and Mercedes can't do that for him. I can't see how he'll beat Leclerc, but it should be close.

Several new drivers means several old faces disappearing, including Bottas, who is now reserve at Mercedes. I would smile a big smile if he were needed as a stand-in and won a race, or even just got a podium.

There's only one test session this year, and we have to wait until the end of February for that. There's also a "launch event" for the new cars, but but that's just pointless razzamataz. Actual racing doesn't start until the middle of March in Australia. Bring it on!
