##books
- “tweak” by nic sheff (2008) - nice
- “trans studies” by crystal odelle (2025) - delightful!
- “when crack was king” by donovan x. ramsey (2023) - loved the historical elements but kept getting lost in the biographies
- “opinions” by roxane gay (2023) - no single essay stuck out but an enjoyable read
- “the right to innocence” by beverly engel (1989) - thanks!
- “come as you are” by emily nagoski (2015) - not as life-changing as i’d been led to believe but i suppose it’s a decade old now
- “tomorrow sex will be good again” by katherine angel (2021) - much better! loved the chapter on vulnerability <3
- “we will not cancel us” by adrienne maree brown (2020) - good guidance
- “the right to sex” by amia srinivasan (2021) - kinda dry compared to the other feminist sex books i’ve read recently but it obv serves a diff purpose; didn’t do what i needed from it personally tho it lays out coherent arguments well
- “illness as metaphor & AIDS and its metaphors” by susan sontag (1978, 1989) - my first sontag! j’adore <3 makes me miss sociological thinking…
- “yes, mistress” by alicia zadig (2021) - some interesting parts for sure!
- “how to think more about sex” by alain de botton (2012) - not even worth reading
- “perv” by jesse bering (2013) - several very interesting chapters, esp at the start
- “adult children of emotionally immature parents” by lindsay c gibson (2015) - pausing every 20mins to text my sister about it… love that it provides me a new lens to understand myself & my patterns of behavior!
- “existential kink” by carolyn elliott (2020) - love this one! thoughtful & funny & engaging
- “this is supposed to be fun” by myisha battle (2023) - surprisingly useful!
- “hot and unbothered” by yana tallon-hicks (2022) - useful on the pessimism portion esp (69% paused indefinitely)
- “please miss” by grace lavery (2022) - knowingly full-of-itself in a grating way; the part about bathrooms has stayed on my mind tho
- “transland” by mx sly (2023) - loving it!!! any descriptions of the book turned me away from it but the writing itself is well done & enticing
