< A suspiciously comforting solitude

Solitude is precious and you must seek it at least occasionally or you will mentally break. My wife and I often sit by the fireplace and read or listen to music and that is some of my most joyful times. Don't worry about what society thinks is normal for your social life.

Appreciate the encouragement. I do get a lot of it (solitude) and I do wonder if we will have a reset of what is 'normal' and a greater appreciation for solitude. I don't expect a massive change but even just a bend of the needle where more people realize "It's great to be getting more back to normal but I think I'm going to preserve some of the quiet we were forced into, and perhaps not be as busy as I was."

It's great that you get to enjoy that with your wife in any case. One of my close friends and his spouse are a typical introvert/extrovert pairing and have a very different valuation of spending time like that.
