Is it even possible for AI crawlers to crawl the Gemini protocol?

If anything, it's a lot easier for AI to crawl Gemini. It's mostly just plaintext without much markup. Also, AI bros are more likely to stumble upon Gemini while searching for their favorite Google-created LLM. 馃 路 3 months ago

@remy I鈥檝e seen some evidence of articles from some rather popular tech news sites using AI to generate their articles, so like I know its fairly common on the web. 路 3 months ago

I've definitely found machine generated text on Gemini. One of the gemlog hosters had to shut down registration because they were getting tons of accounts for random names and random numbers posting somewhat random femdom content. I don't know why this content was created, I don't recall seeing links out to some other service, web or Gemini. Forgive me, I can't recall who the host was. This was long enough ago that it probably wasn't LLM generated making it exceptionally poor quality text. But if an LLM emerges on Gemini (not Google) and seems particularly focused on femdom erotica for some reason, now you know what happened. 路 3 months ago

Gemini could be attractive for finding text written by humans. On the web more and more pages are written by genAI. 路 3 months ago

There's actually some evidence that this is already happening. Here's a couple of links about this topic: gemini://gemini.circumlunar.space/users/adiabatic/words/computing/gemini/into-llms/

i cant see any reason why its not possible for such a thing to be made but i highly agree with darkghost its extraordinarily unlikely that someone in charge of setting up gpt crawlers would both be aware of gemini and think it is worth the effort considering all they really need is as much content as possible and there is basically nothing on gemini compared to whats available to http crawlers 路 3 months ago

It's technically possible. Just probably not worth it. 路 3 months ago
