A sentiment I often see here on Gemini is that they think the web is 'dead' and full of 'shallow' people but frankly I don't feel it. I am certainly not saying this applies to everybody but I feel like a lot of people who find the quality of discussion on the WWW to be 'lesser' than the quality of discussion here feel that way because they want 'genuine discussion' but have no clear idea what that discussion is even supposed to be about. You'll find maymays and shitposts if you just look at the...

I wrote a very short story (less than 1k words) recently. What are some interesting non-tech capsules anybody can recommend? I'm trying to discover things organically mostly by link-surfing but most of the active gemlogs I see are either about tech or just plain diary posting. I suppose it's just what I expected of Gemini since it's primarily populated by tech geeks but I wonder if there are any active capsules that write about more diverse topics.

My library — I have finally made use of my capsule and put some of my original fiction there. Trying to format it with Gemini's limited markup was quite a challenge, especially not being able to put my illustrations inline where they were meant to go. [gemini link] My library In the future, I'm thinking of writing blog posts about schizospectral conditions to complement them since my stories tend to be about schizospectral characters or experiences. I doubt Gemini has much of an audience for...

Japanese BBS's and websites had quite a boom of simple CGI web games in the late '90s and early 2000s. I am unfamiliar with how much (or how little) traction they ever gained in the West, but they are exactly the sort of games I can imagine easily fitting into Gemini.
