I just finished the first book in the Murderbot series and I really liked it. it was recommended around here on Gemini somewhere. The first book was a quick read. Good story, decent bit of action, and interesting plot and character development.

I haven't bought the second because I'm on the fence about the price tag. I might search around and buy direct instead of Kindle so the money goes hopefully more towards the author.

The new one (System Collapse) comes out in under two hours (at time of posting). I can say they stay really good. The novellas are nice single day reads (for me) and the novel was great. I'm looking forward to the new one (also a novel).

Those books were very quick reads. Enjoyable, not in a deep-thought provoking way so much as an action-thriller way.
