gemini and openssl 1.0.2u — Will Lagrange or other Gemini browsers connect to the server that works with OpenSSL-1.0.2u? I want to add gemini protocol to the Indy (Internet Direct) components for Pascal. Those can be used with FreePascal/Lazarus as well and they come by default with Embarcadero (formerly Borland) IDE's. It is much easier juts to implement Spartan or Gemini without integrating it to any framework. But I want to integrate to Indy. Indy, by the way has Gopher support, Finger...

Some people are complaining that new members can't join BBS because of anti-bot protection. If that's true, it's not cool, as it simply makes it harder for them to join Geminispace..

What is amazing is that I am not getting any better at it, no matter how much I play. And I play an awful lot. Once the bottom row gets an accidental 1 or 2, there is just no way to get past it. I almost thought I could get the 9 or the 10 back into the corner, but it takes so much effort that it's not worth it.

Recently tested the minimalistic, radio-first oriented Reticulum network with its NomadNet/LXMF implementation, but I still don't understand how to host a Gemini capsule there e.g. when the global network is down. It seems I need to convert everything to Micron. It's frustrating!

Perhaps the most comfortable home capsule I have ever seen is: [gemini link] It includes comments, content sorting, and other dyn features. Interesting, what CMS is used there?

Green Fluffish — But anyways, here's a green Fluffish I originally doodled in a small notepad (I had to edit out the lines from the line paper.) then I scanned it with my mom's scanner, then I darkend the lineart, then colored it, muliplied the coloring then put Art-shield over the drawing. (It added a black background, since it is a transparent png, so I just cut out the black background with the want tool) (These things are inspired by Labubus, I do want to still make them more fishy...

Onion Services — I've been messing with Tor since adding SOCKS5 support to Alhena. I think the whole onion service thing is interesting and was surprised to find a few in Gemini. I set up my own service (temporarily) to see what was involved. I like the idea for running one but I'm wondering why. Is the motivation mostly to show support for the technology?

In a couple of days it will be my birthday. It’s a strange day to celebrate — I’ve never really understood what there is to celebrate: birth? life? Here, in space, everything seems even more meaningless. Yet, in the end, it’s just another way to be close to those who truly matter. Perhaps we should really rethink the “traditions” of our species — or perhaps the species itself. My crew will be with me, once again, on this long journey into the unknown. — Captain tty, aboard the vessel...

slcl v0.4.0 release — I am happy to announce the v0.4.0 release for slcl! For those of you know do not know about slcl, think about it as Nextcloud, but without the bloat or JavaScript. slcl is written in C and requires 400 KiB of RAM (yes, KiB!) to run on a Linux server. Needless to say, it works lighting fast on older hardware, including SBCs. This new release brings several new features: thumbnails, directory downloads and security fixes. Static binaries for Linux are also available for...

and again :) how to read the Geminispace on e-ink device? I definitively don't understand how to connect this device to desktop and which software (browser) to compile there (maybe linux/arm)

A question for other programming languages that can work in Gemini capsules + Naming my future capsule. — Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question, but what other programming langauges will work on a gemini capsule, other than gmi and markdown? Since I want to host it on Pollux.casa. I'll probably give my capsule the name of pink porcupine, or purple hegdes, or something themed around the Libertarian symbol of the porcupine.

🌒 s/Alhena

Hi, does Alhena currently support HTTP or SOCKS proxy? I'm trying to connect an I2P capsule that requires the i2pd proxy on 127.0.0.1:4444 I need this information to include in my article about available clients with proxy option support: [gemini link] Публікація капсули Gemini в I2P на прикладі сервера Agate [gemini link] Related subject on BBS

Does Lagrange support SOCKS or HTTP proxies? I found the headers issue in response when trying to test I2P connection. Maybe my settings incorrect: [gemini link] Related subjects: [gemini link] [https link]

Captain’s Log – Message in the Capsule I am Captain tty, journeying through the void in search of any form of life that might guide me. This space is too dark to navigate by sight alone. [gemini link] is my capsule. I come in peace — any travelers, please pay us a visit. The stars stretch endlessly around me, cold and distant, silent witnesses to my solitude. Perhaps one day I will encounter something along my path, a spark of life in the vast emptiness. Is this the edge of the world?

Has anyone read the Space Trilogy by CS Lewis? He's got an entirely different take on space, aliens, exploration, and man's place in the cosmos. Really interesting.

To server developers, In my opinion, sending user input in headers is wrong: My proxy grabs URL mask from it, as part of request (which includes filtered domain in message text) Cyrillic text is limited I believe that social platforms should use Titan input by default; the URI request is definitely not part of the messaging transport.

🌒 s/homelab

Question: I have a variety of older e-waste machine that I've rescued and held on to. I'm interesting in running some kind of homelab (probably a nextcloud instance, or some kind of shared drive for all the devices in the half_elf_monastery. What should I be looking for in hardware? Should I prioritize the best processor? Or the most capacity for storage expansion? Lowest power consumption? Is form factor a consideration at all (i.e., laptop vs. desktop vs. server-rack? My plans for today and so on — Hope everyone is doing well today, I'm currently just working on finishing more art in my digital backlogs, and hopefully continue on my Utau voice synth for Lucyanna Kimsel (One of my many ocs) and yeah. (I'm also picking which place to self host my gemini capsule, I'm now thinking of using pollux.casa to host it, for the time being)
