Multi-protocol browser (Dschubba) Dschubba is intended to be a multi-protocol browser for use with X windows in GNU/Linux systems. It is FOSS, and is not written much yet; part of the decision of how to make up the data structures and a few other things. Goals (not all of them are first priority, though; some would be later): Gopher (without TLS) Gemini Nex Scorpion (with and without TLS) Spartan Local files TLS client certificates Bitmap fonts (including non-Unicode bitmap fonts) Never do...

🌒 s/Gemini

Separate to my previous post about new server software, I'd like to sign up for some personal Gemini hosting for a gemlog and perhaps some smallish CGI toys. I've looked into various tildes and such and would welcome some input. The main priority would be ease of use (I don't have a lot of time to manage complicated setups these days). Being able to host interactive content is also a big plus, as mentioned; it would also be nice to have the gemini site be mirrored to HTTPS. Lately I've looked...

Would be good to figure out a system for dealing with changed client certs, preferably gracefully. I got a message from @satch, but can't respond because I sent a message to them with a previous client cert while trying to test my server initially. I suspect it'll be common for folks who build their own server or client to change their client cert while debugging and testing, even after sending a message to someone. P.S. - @satch, if you could delete my old client cert fingerprint for vi@...

Mermaid graphs rendered to ascii — Pretty cool really. A little go script to convert Mermaid markup to ASCII art. It can be even called via curl: [preformatted]

Changes — How sucky can be life sometimes: in less than two weeks, I lost my job, I lost my band and my marriage is again on a thin rope. Let's see where this leads to.

🌒 s/Lagrange

lagrange on android tablet showing as a desktop — I have a boox tablet, and lagrange installed on it, it runs on android. Lagrange displays as a dektop layout which makes it harder to manage. Can I force lagrange to display like on my phone? It seems the UI is different.

I have 2 gopher holes that I maintain, but I'd like to have a better Gemini presence. I wonder about automating one of these gopher to duplicate to Gemini. Anyone is doing something like that? I'd rather not have all my gopher file ending with .GMI But I am also thinking to have a Gemini capsule for a complete different subject maybe.. Also are there many agregator on Gemini to be aware of?

Misfin-Server Update 0.5.9c — More advanced threading system - threads now take into account the participants. A change in participants creates a new thread (or "branch"); which is actually a compromise that makes the system *simpler* because of the lack of message IDs and reply-to IDs in misfin. Minimalism often makes simple things more complex. Reply links on gemini mail interface. Misfin links now use new "misfin:" format (rather than "misfin://") You can install misfin-server here, for...

I gave up long ago on GnuPG and switched to age. age is pretty cool, but as a casual user I often forget the proper command line arguments combinations. Therefore I decided to create minicrypt, which only has two commands, -d decrypt and -g generate key pair. Encryption for a single recipient does not need a parameter. The nice thing, compared for example with GnuPG, is, it does not produce meta data and therefore is ideally suited for anonymous communications. [https link]

If you're using clagrange with less than 256 colors (e.g., TERM=xterm, vt200, or linux), please upgrade to v1.18.3 to fix the background colors always being inverted.

wow, without changing strategy, just playing like I usually do, I just don't seems to get anywhere! If I follow the law of probability I should hit very good games soon!!

— v1.18.2 on git.skyjake.fi

Lagrange 1.18.2 released, mobile builds updated — I've done the whole gamut of builds tonight: desktop, terminal, and mobile. The changes are listed below. All platforms Misfin: URI format has changed to "misfin:address?message" instead of the previously used "misfin://address". The optional query string ("message") is used as the initial message contents if the upload dialog's text editor is empty....

I'm working on a proof of concept for that game I mentioned earlier. I won't give away too much just yet, but it's a word guessing game. The basics of gameplay are working; making it look good in Gemini will come later. The biggest headache right now is generating grammatically correct clues. Right now, the word list includes a lot of derived forms, like "walks" and "walked". I've used NLTK and WordNet to auto-generate clues, but the problem is, it lemmatizes words and gives definitions for the...

Lofi-hop track I wrote back in 2018 — Inspired by the last post by u/AlbertLarsan68 , I have published an old track of mine with lofi vibes. Even if it got rejected from all lofi channels I wrote to, I always enjoyed listening to this track at late night. I played all instruments on this track, except drums.

Threaded View in Misfin Clients — Since I have covered verification within misfin, I also want to cover how I have implemented Threaded view, and some other considerations that need to be made for Threading. Note that this is a client-side consideration, and has been partially implemented in misfin-server's client gemini interface, rather than the server itself. Threaded view tries to organize messages into threads based on a common topic. It is useful not just for responses to private...

On 2024-10-25, I will replace the server certificate on Rob's Gemini Capsule with a new one. The current cert fingerprint ends with BB6C557D; the new cert fingerprint will end with 56D4B3AF. If you see "untrusted host" warnings in the near future, please don't panic!

Ensemble - a new puzzle game for Gemini — I am considering putting together a new-old puzzle for Geminauts based on the game Set. I have two options: =============== Inlined image version requires Lagrange with a couple of settings tweaked: Preferences/Network/Max URL size: 32767 Preferences/Content/Open images in Data URLs: on Once these are set, click on the mockup link below and let me know if you can see it and what you think...
